Lymphedema is a possible side-effect of mastectomy surgery if lymph nodes are also removed. Lymphedema is a build-up of lymphatic fluid in the interstitial tissue, causing swelling of the affected arm.
If you develop lymphedema (which can happen even years after surgery), your doctor may prescribe an arm sleeve to help minimize the swelling. LympheDivas creates fabulously stylish (and fun!) sleeves and gauntlets. Proper measurements are required - check with your treatment team.
